Tobacco Commission approves projects for Henry County

Henry County
“Danville Del. Danny Marshall chairs the Special Projects Committee and says the panel gave final approval for a grant that will help attract a British-based aerospace firm to the Patriot Centre Industrial Park near Martinsville. Marshall says the company, code-named ‘Spoke,’ will build a 60,000-square-foot facility. The UK firm will spend $27 million with the promise of 155 jobs with an average annual salary of $31,000.

Another $6.5 million will pay to grade a huge site at the new Commonwealth Crossing Business Centre on 220 South near the Virginia-North Carolina border. Plans call for a one-million-square-foot manufacturing facility, fronted by a 100-thousand-square-foot training facility. The project was approved in committee in late November.”
